Hi, I don't normally post "I saw Mir"-type messages, but I'll make an exception because it was my first sighting of ISS after the docking of Zvezda. I saw it this night (30 July 00) at 04:26 UTC. It emerged from the Earth's shadow in the west-southwest under a favorable phase angle. It reached very quickly an astounding brilliance. By comparison with Jupiter (visible elsewhere in the sky), I estimate the maximum brightness at -2 mag. After having culminated at about 85 degres elevation, it descended in the eastern sky, losing several magnitudes. By coincidence, it passed exactly across the stars alpha Per and delta Per, providing a good opportunity to check the accuracy of my predictions.
