    Good detective work, Russell.  At first I thought the observer had to have
    seen an Iridium flare (given the Cassiopeia location) and was simply
    mistaken
    about the lack of movement.  But I couldn't get a time match.  You took the
    next step and assumed the date might also be wrong -- bingo!  --Rob
