It sounds a little cheap, but you can tape a soda straw to the edge of a protractor. hang a weighted string from zero. Site the sat thru the straw and pinch the string against the scale holding it there until you can conveniently read the elevation. mike +++++++++ I recently purchased a "pitch and angle locator" at a local hardware store (Menards) for about $5. I have yet to adapt it to line-of-sight viewing but it does gives me an accurate idea about what the various elevation angles look like with respect to the horizon.
