Mike had worked up a provisional, possible search
prediction, and we both looked for it but did not
see Brad's UNID. Of course there are so many
issues in trying to pin down orbital elements of an
unknown UNID.
I had a rare view -- two tumbling objects traveling
on nearly parallel tracks within my binocular field
of view. One was Haiyang 1 (02-024A, 27430) for
which I had a prediction. The other was Fengyun 3A
Rk (08-026B, 32959). They traveled down the edge
of the bowl of the Big Dipper and on to the NNW.
I saw 30 objects without binoculars, which seems
like it could be an unusually high number. But it
was a nice, moonless evening of course. Two of
them were the NOSS 3-3 pair (05-004). We were at
BCRC (30.315N, 97.866W, 280m), which is not as
dark as it used to be.
