Search elements for Kevin's NOSS like unknown

    Kevin kindly shared the video of his observation of the July 4th
    unknown object in the NOSS like orbit. He manually tracked the unknown
    for over 2.5 minutes as it moved from the South East to the East at an
    elevation of about 30 degrees. Because the arc for this orbit is quite
    long it is feasible to fit eccentric orbits.
    
    His video was split into segments of 1 second each (30 frames) from
    which I obtained the observations listed below. Eccentric orbits were
    fitted to these observations over a range of trial eccentricities. For
    each trial eccentricity all parameters, inclination, argument of
    perigee, mean anomaly, RA of ascending node and mean motion were
    fitted. The value for Bstar drag was kept fixed at 0.5e-4.
    
    Orbits with eccentricities in the range of 0.04 to 0.05 fit the
    observations best, with rms residuals of 0.003 degrees. Below I
    provide search elements that can be used for planar searches. I
    suggest to focus on the 78540 and 78545 elsets first.

    The orbits certainly have the characteristics of a NOSS object. It is
    furthermore interesting to note that the best fit orbit has a mean
    motion close to that of operational NOSS objects, i.e. 13.4 revs/day.
