The next Falcon-9 launch from Vandenberg on July 20th will produce a spectacular "twilight-effect" very similar to the Dec 22, 2017 launch. See: https://spaceflightnow.com/2017/12/28/falcon-9-launch-lights-up-southern-cal ifornia-sky/ The plume will be widely observable all along the California coast from San Francisco (and even a bit further north) all the way into Baja, and inland as far away as Las Vegas NV and Phoenix AZ. The rocket enters sunlight 3m30s after launch. Plots made with Rob Matson's SKYMAP program appear at: https://www.flickr.com/photos/xb70man/albums/72157670924346968 The last plot in the album shows the 2017 launch details for comparison. That was an evening launch. The July 20th launch will be morning. Clear skies.
