STS91 sighting from UK

Just read that some of my European friends didn't get to see STS91 last night.
>From southern UK, I saw it right on track as suggested by initial tles, at
2227 UTC.
This was 3 mins earlier than expected but I just noticed that liftoff was
2206 and not
2210 that was presumably assumed for that tle. Mag at best was -1.0 but
what was
apparent was something trailing it and at the same speed, probably mag 0.0.
What
was this? Obviously the SRB's had long since disappeared. What ever this
was went
into earth shadow (I assume) about 10 secs before STS (lower orbit?) Any
thoughts?
