>From Don Gardner on last night's Mir/STS-91 pass:
>STS-91 passed Eps-Cass at 23:19:08 EDT (03:19:08UT) - 2 minutes 8 secondes
>after Mir. At first it appeared to be as bright as the Mir then increased in
>brightness to about a +1 as it passed Beta-Cass.
While observing their earlier pass in central Rhode Island around 0145 UT
I noticed the same brightening of STS-91 as it passed Beta Cass. It held
this brightness over the next 15 to 20 degrees moving eastward and I estimated
its magnitude at 1.3. Both it and Mir appeared distinctly yellow in 7 x 50
binoculars compared to the stars of spectral classes A and B in western Cass.
