I've found, for locations in the United States at least, a great source for
lat/lon information on the interactive maps at URL:

http://www.etakguide.com/

Put in your street address, or a zip code that's close to your location, then
zoom in until you find the spot you're interested in.  Toggle the lat/lon option
and point to the place on the map, and Presto! you get a precise position...
