With the change in policy for access to the Goddard two-lines, I have once more started to send the daily files over to Dave Ransom for posting on his FTP site and web site (FTP/WWW.DRANSOM.COM): I have just posted yesterday's daily file there, GD980625.ZIP. Of course we do not want Goddard's new web site to be jammed with everyone trying to access the large files, and therefore I assume that a system can be started so that perhaps just 4-5 SEESATers access the daily files and make them available on web sites and FTP sites. I would make one suggestion - that a common name is used for the files ! The original Goddard names are tle2mon.zip, tle3tue.zip, tle4wed.zip, tle5thu.zip and tle6fri.zip, with each file being overwritten once a week by a new, identically-named file. I rename the contents GDyymmdd off-line and re-zip the files using the new name which tells you what date they refer to. of course, others might think of a better convention, but it is obvious that a common naming policy should be accepted.
