I saw a great -1.4 mag from Mir tonight at 3:36 UTC. It passed almost straight overhead, and was probably the best all around sat pass I've seen yet. In my 10x50s I *think* I could see not just the usual point of light, but a defined, elongated shape instead. Is this possible? Maybe it was just the glare, but at the time Mir was only 6 kilometers from perigee (257 vs. tonight's 263), so if detail is ever visible in 10x50s it should have been there tonight. Good show!
