The first of four planned rockets launched from Wallops Island at 03:19 UTC this evening. I was not able to see the contrail from my location (I have a terrible view to the SE) but observers about 20km west of my location were able to observe the ascent less than 2 minutes after launch. I observed the white streak created by the release of the TMA (trimethylaluminum) at T+6:30, clearly visible at 1x about 20 degrees above the horizon in the SE. It had diminished considerable but was still visible at 1x at T+12:30. The next launch should occur at 04:49 UTC Cheers, Don Gardner 39.1799 N, 76.8406 W, 100m ASL http://hometown.aol.com/mir16609/ http://www.howardastro.org/ ----------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe from SeeSat-L, send a message with 'unsubscribe' in the SUBJECT to SeeSat-L-request@satobs.org List archived at http://www.satobs.org/seesat/seesatindex.html
