    if you are going to nasa j-track 3d  and the java applet window isn't 
    opening (as you said, the blocked popup sound chimed) you are missing the 
    whole show, and a fabulous resource for visual demonstration of sats and 
    their positions in realtime.   I suggest you disable your popup blocker or 
    firewall or whatever might be thwarting you.
    
    j-track 3d is a fine tool for explaining orbital types and dynamics to 
    novices, I've found. instead of using the url you listed in your last post, 
    try this slightly different one:

    also you might want to give the ol' encyclopedia astronautica a whirl.
