Hi all,
I just wanted to let you know that we just released a prototype of Heavens-Above optimised for mobile devices such as smart phones and tablets.

It uses the latest HTML 5 technology, and is more similar to an app than the main web site. It can use the location service of the mobile device, and draws all the graphics using JavaScript. I hope the "live sky chart" will be of particular interest. It shows all the currently visible satellites animated on the sky chart, and no page navigation is necessary during an evening of observation. Once the satellite passes for the coming night are downloaded from our server, no Internet connection is required, so you can use it at a dark sky site where mobile or WiFi networks are unavailable.

Feed back and suggestions would be very welcome.

You can find more information, including screen shots at this address;

the mobile site itself is here;

Best wishes,
Chris Peat
