Interesting - this fireball does seem to match the track of object 6939, a Molniya Blok-L (4th stage rocket) launched in 1973 which reentered this morning. Space-Track now gives the reentry time as one orbit EARLIER than this despite previous TIP predictions putting it right around this time. Perhaps the stage broke up but part remained in orbit one more rev...
