Dear SeeSat members,

Thanks for accepting me on your list.

I am Jean-Christophe Millot, from New Caledonia.
I am the president of the local amateur astronomy club, the Association
Calédonienne d'Astronomie.
I reported in the past observations of Lewis satellite reentry back in
1997 !
I hope I am in the right place to signal and discuss the following.
I had since then some other observations from the public but never as
much as what happened a few hours ago: we had a lot of observations of a
reentry yesterday evening in New Caledonia (and also from Vanuatu).

Time and date: Monday 14th at 19:15 local time = 14th 8:15 UT.
Duration of the observation: from 40 seconds to 1 mn.

Our local astronomical society Facebook page is full of observations
from the public with a few photos and even videos.

I am currently looking for more information about this reentry.
There is a chinese rocket due to reenter in a few hours. Could it be
early ?
Any other possible suspect for this re-entry ?

The local media contacted us this night and will certainly contact us
early this morning so any additional information will be much
appreciated and you will of course be credited for this.

Kindest regards.
