Hi Everyone,

This study resulted in three main findings about the ‘Mini’ satellites.
First, they can be very luminous during early mission phases. Second, the
brightness mitigation plan developed by SpaceX dims them by a factor of 12
when they are on-station. Third, they are fainter than Gen 1 satellites
despite being four times as large.

Several SeeSat contributors are co-authors on the paper which is located at
https://arxiv.org/abs/2306.06657. I acknowledge the importance of this
forum in the article. We welcome other observers and analysts to
participate in our study of satellite magnitudes.

Best regards,

Tony Mallama
