Hello

Hello,

I received a very nice reply from Bart after sending a few comments upon
subscribing. I mis-read the help message and directed my introduction to
seesat-l-request rather than the list itself.

I live in Austin, TX, USA and am interested in several different areas
of Astronomy. I was first introduced to satellite observations by Mike
McCants, also of Austin. Mike answered all of my questions and set me
up with copies of his prediction software.

In the past I have served as vice-president of the Austin Astronomical
Society, and was in charge of programs. I am also an informal contact
on the internet for the society. Bart asked me what the program
chairman does. It means I was the one they come looking for when there
is no speaker for the monthly meetings. :)

I enjoy using Instatrack to display the motions of satellites. Since I
also have a satellite TV receive only system, I can watch NASA Select
and display the Shuttle to "caption" some of the random video they often
transmit when in orbit.

I normally observe visually or with my 11 x 80 binoculars. I also
enjoy watching the geosats when a large telescope is available. I
use Element Manager (v 1.8 by Rick Von Glahn) to sort and learn more
about the elements themselves. Between things I see on the net, asking
Mike McCants, and comparing old and newer elements, I may learn a thing
or two...

I am looking forward to the mail this list will bring.
