Usenet and visual satellite observing

Hi all,

A few of us have been having (through private e-mail) a discussion about
the future of SeeSat-L. One of the things that came up in this discussion
is the possible creation of a Usenet newsgroup devoted to visual observing
of artificial satellites. The five of us (Walter Nissen, Jeff Hunt, Jim
Varney, Neil Clifford and me) thought it would be a good idea to invite
other people interested in discussing this topic to join our discussions.

If you're interested in the above, please contact me. If there are enough
people interested, I will start up a temporary mailing list 'usesat-L'
devoted to discussions of this nature. I would like to ask all of you to
not respond to this message directly on SeeSat-L. This topic is not
related to satellite-observing, more of an administrative nature, and thus
'off-topic' for SeeSat-L.

Contact me at the address below if interested.

Cheers,
   Bart De Pontieu <bdp@mpepl.plasma.mpe-garching.mpg.de>

PS: The local net in Garching has been down for the better part of today, in
case you were wondering why the last few SeeSat-messages took so long to get to
you.
