    How about a spectacular "blue sparkler" effect that Ed Cannon and
    I observed in October 1996 from Cosmos 2053 (20389/89-100A).  See:

    This satellite decayed in September 1997.  We saw it several more
    times before its decay, but it never again displayed the behavior
    that we had seen in October 1996.
