Reading earlier reports about IMAGE #26113 00017A being launched and using the available elsets, i saw that it would make a favourable pass at my location this evening. I looked for it with my 10x50s but being in a high orbit with low relative motion plus dark skies, all i saw were a lot of stars and quite a few low orbit sats in the FOV. I continued to look, at 1x mostly and at 03:56:18 27 Mar UTC +/- 10 sec i saw a large -2 flash approx 12-15 deg below and approx 10 deg West of Polaris. Az 350 deg El 40 deg (estimated). Then at 03:56:42 +/- 5 sec there was another large -2 flash in roughly the same area. No other flashes were seen. Whether these were from IMAGE i can't positively say for sure but IMAGE was in that general area at that time. However i did see the DELTA 2 rocket that launched it, R/B(1) #26114 00017B was seen in my 10x50s low, 7 deg at Az 55 deg at 04:47:xx but was lost in some Aurora haze. Iridium 67 flared to -7 as predicted.
