Hi, On the 5th of March we obtained a high quality image of MIR as it passed over the UK. You can view the image, together with details of the equipment used at http://www.btinternet.com/~mikejtyrrell/astrophoto.htm Also on these pages we have an image of Cosmos 2172 displaying a flash (see recent SeeSat message http://www2.satellite.eu.org/seesat/Feb-2001/0055.html) These are our first experiments with satellite observing and having calibrated the Cosmos image against background stars we believe the orbit to be somewhat different to the predicted one from recent TLEs. Should such observations be reported to enable corrections to the TLE? If so how and where?
