OT: Navspasur to be changed

    An article on page 18 of the 3-12-01 Space News titled Navy to Improve
    Space Surveillance Sensors describes changes to Navspasur. It looks like by
    2006, the UHF "space fence" will be changed to S-band and L band. I think
    those frequencies are about 2400 MHz and 1600 MHz respectively. The Navy
    plans to use the upgraded system for 20 to 30 years. No word on when UHF
    will be affected/eliminated.
