> Space Station Science Picture of the Day > http://science.nasa.gov/ppod/ No wonder someone (sorry I forget who!) had trouble identifying the star field!! 2/3 of these "stars" are from the camera. The true stars all have the same smile-like shape caused by tracking error. The false stars are mostly a single bright pixel. I've had this same problem with digital cameras with long exposures. Usually one can just subtract a black picture taken while the camera was at the same temperature for the exact same number of seconds. - George Roberts mailto: gr@pobox.com http://www.pobox.com/~gr ----------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe from SeeSat-L, send a message with 'unsubscribe' in the SUBJECT to SeeSat-L-request@satobs.org List archived at http://www.satobs.org/seesat/seesatindex.html
