It passed near Venus. A member of my astronomy club made a short (255k) Quicktime movie off the ISS as it passed Venus: http://hometown.aol.com/mir16609/iss0320.mov Note the 2 closely spacecd objects in the lower right corner. Progress was detatched at the time. Docking, I am told, occurred at 03:48 UTC, 20 March. /////////////////////////////// UNID: Location - Carrs Mill Park 39.3181 N, 77.0542 177 mALS Time 01:30 to 01:32 UTC, 21 March Brightness - about -2.5 mag Reddish in color - like UARS - no trail No aircrft lights observed with 15x70 binos Approx. path - from 195az 35el to 138az 17el At 138az 17el at 01:32 UTC it should have been in eclipse if it were a LEO object. I'm guessing it was an aircraft at a funny angle where I couldn't see the red/green lights (although I couldn't hear engine sounds) or a bolid. There was no apparent fragmenting from the object.
