       So is the West side of South America a subduction zone? That's twice in
    6 years the Earth's net radius has changed. I guess it's now 6378.???X
    km +/- 0.000X km if these events cause a change of radius in the cm
    range. I imagine that somewhere, in the mid Atlantic ridge?, one day
    the sea floor will extrude open to make up for the 'loss'. I wonder how
    big the variance is from year to year.
