I'll add my two cents - my fondest memory of MIR was standing in the parking lot of my then employer, Concurrent Computer, in Oceanport, NJ in the late 80's/early 90's. MIR was passing overhead, and I was lucky enough to be chatting with the astro/cosmonauts on board via Amateur Radio. I saw them pass into Earth's shadow, and mentioned that "I bet you just had a lovely sunset." He was amazed that I knew that, and was amazed that I was watching them fly directly overhead. -- David Tiller Lead Consultant/Architect | CapTech (804) 304-0638 | dtiller@captechconsulting.com ________________________________________ From: seesat-l-bounces+dtiller=captechconsulting.com@satobs.org [seesat-l-bounces+dtiller=captechconsulting.com@satobs.org] on behalf of Kevin Fetter [kfetter@yahoo.com] Sent: Tuesday, March 22, 2011 6:50 AM To: seesat-l@satobs.org Subject: alomost 10 years since Mir space station went bye bye It's almost been 10 years, since Mir was deorbited.
