    Well I've tested this with win XP

    advantage your PC-Clock's drift is getting compensated even if you are not in touch with a time server the calculated drift will hold it close. (no jumps in time if properly configured - "might" not work properly in VM or realtime environment like soft PLC)
    
    you also might adapt windows time service but this will give you time jumps when synchronizing

    you'll should edit the registry to shorten the poll intervall.....
