Hi Gianluca,

I usually use Heavensat software with the latest orbital element sets from
Space-Track and McCants loaded, doing a visual comparison of the image versus
the software-generated map:

In some cases I use dedicated identification software that compares the measured
position to the full database (see Ted Molczan's mail). Notably when there
initially seems to be no fit (it can be an object on the move)
