Flash email report for May 1995 ------------------------------- Some history: The Belgian Working Group Satellites (BWGS) has been active in collecting flash period observations of artificial satellites since 1987. All observations are part of the PPAS database (Photometric Periods of Artificial Satellites) which now contains over 34000 observations from more than 1200 satellites. The Working Group publishes a monthly newsletter Flash, which is open to contributions by observers (about any kind of satellite observations). This email report is an addition to the newsletter. We welcome all observers to send their flash timings to bdp@mpe.mpe-garching.mpg.de or BWGS, Bart De Pontieu, MPE, Giessenbachstrasse, D-85740 Garching, Germany. Program availability: This e-mail report is a one-line synopsis of our program files. You can get the full program files (about 60 Kb in total) at : SeeSat-L : send a message with Subject: archive get program/program.* to SeeSat-L-request@iris01.plasma.mpe-garching.mpg.de WWW-URL : http://www.ipp-garching.mpg.de/~bdp/sat/program.rob SATORAMA (by Tristan Cools, tcools@nic.INbe.net): Our observing programme can be found below. It is subdivided in categories, the codes of which can be found below. b flashing object for beginners d difficult to measure S steady object, potentially flashing in the future ? flash period is unknown or uncertain - long flash period (>40 s) ! top-priority object regular object >From this month on a new code will be added for the Determination of Rotation Axis Project(DRA). It is not a single code but a code which will be added to an existing code. For example: bx, dx, !x. I don't know if Satflash can handle this completely but I'm sure that Jean De Weerdt will solve eventual problems in no time!
