I'll just nod "yes" for the time being - I hope I can be more helpful
if your problems persist. I hav used SkyMap with Win95 for 6 months,
and I can't remember having any problem - The first (old?) ansi.sys
I picked worked.

I also run (and ran way back with Norton Commander) by associating
the extension .cfg to the SkyMap program, so I can click on any of
a multiple of configuration files, whenever I wish to run space views,
observation analysis, solar/lunar transits, predictions for friends,
large elsets, selected objects, .......
