Observations Wednesday April 30  (1 May 1997 UT)

04:08:17 UT  OAO1 (NORAD #2142) very close appulse with Regulus.
             Was Mag 1.5/2.0 approaching Leo, faded to 4/5 as
             it passed eastward.

04:16:20     GPS-2-26 r. Appulse w/Mars. Mag 4.

04:23:20     Unidentified northbound satellite passing from western
             Virgo into eastern Leo, mag 4, tumbling approx 1/sec.
             Possible candidate #0575, 63013B?

04:25:38     Lacrosse 2 rocket (21148), Mag. 2.5, practically occultated
             Epsilon Leonis.

04:31:00     Atlas-Centaur 2, appulse w/Alpha Hydrae. Mag 3.5.
