Photometric Periods of Artificial Satellites 7
     ----------------------------------------------

This database of Photometric Periods of Artificial Satellites (PPAS)
has been collected by the Belgian Working Group of Satellites (BWGS).
It contains more than 43000 observations, most of them giving accurate
timings of the flash period of the observed object.

Comparing this version to the PPAS 6, it contains another part of the archive
of Horst Koehnke, as well as new observations obtained between April 1996
and May 1997. Thanks to the effort of mainly Leo Barhorst a number of
faulty entries in our archive have been corrected.

The PPAS consists of 40 Text or ASCII-files (one for each launch year) which
contain the observations of the satellites launched in that year. All PPAS-
files have the extension '.OBS'. E.g. The file 'PPAS91.OBS' contains all
observations of satellites which were launched in 1991.

In the archive you will find the following files :

ppas7.txt : introductory text on how the database is organized (40 text files,
(28 Kb) one per launch year), what the PPAS format is, list of observers
              and so on.

ppas7.uue : uuencoded and zipped version of the ppas7-files.
(842 Kb)
