I'm not sure if I saw LDEF alone, but it's what let me see the shuttle for the
first time. At that time, I got elements by mail. I couldn't see the shuttle
because the elements were old or the shuttle was down by the time elements
arrived. When I knew that the shuttle would retrieve LDEF, I made predictions
for that and sure enough, there was LDEF in the shuttle bay.
That was one of my more exciting observations.
