Hi,
Last night I tried to see 6 satellites. Saw 3 of them, including ABRIXAS.
Details, times in UT:
0050-0057: Couldn't see Ariane Rocket (23561) . Sun hadn't set sufficiently
enough.
0115-0122: Couldn't see Resurs 01 Rocket (23343) . Looked in the wrong
places at the wrong times.
0133-0138: Saw Atlas Centaur Rocket (6155) . No tumbling. Sighted at
0135:10, lost visual contact as it faded on schedule at 0138:40.
0148-0201: I think I saw ABRIXAS (25721) . If so, it was 5 to 6 minutes
late. It had the exact same predicted flight plan as ABRIXAS, but it was a
little over 300 seconds late. No tumbling. Sighted at about 0200:00; visual
contact maintained only 10 or 15 seconds. About magnitude +6.5.
0154-0200: Couldn't see Cosmos 1862 Rocket (18153) . Too high altitude. My
searching for it lead to my discovering the lateness of the ABRIXAS satellite.
0207-0214: Saw Cosmos 2151 (21422) . No tumbling; everything right on
schedule.
------------------
So, I went 3-6, 50.0%.
So, this year I have gone 5-24, 20.8%.
And in 1998 (my first year of satellite observing), I went 41-128, 32.0%.
And overall, I have gone 46-152, 30.3%.
