Folks, I just got back some Iridium flare photos that I shot a couple of weeks ago and they are perfect (composition, framing, timing etc) except for one "little" thingie .... sky fog is really obvious in the 40-sec exposures (using Fuji ASA 800 film). I have Orion's 1.25" SkyGlow Broadband filter which I use for DSO work and would like to use it when taking my piggy-back satellite photos. I was wondering if this is possible and how one would attach the filter to the lens being used. For the iridium flares, it seems that my 50 and 100 mm lenses will meet my needs exclusively and, therefore, these lenses would be the intended target for the skyglow filter. Any other leads as to how you may have dealt with sky fog and light pollution in photographing satellites and iridium flares would be appreciated. I have consulted a couple of bibles on astrophotography and there is absolutely no mention or reference to satellite photography!
