Decided to head up to Clingmans Dome in the Great Smoky Mountains Nat'l Park, at over 6000 feet one of the highest spots East of the Mississippi. I hadn't been up there in several years, but tonight the Mrs and I saw 10 sats in the near-pitch black surrounded by haze. It passed high overhead (between 75-80 deg azimuth) and went into eclipse at approximately 10:47:55 Eastern Time (give/take 10 seconds). Checking Calsky, I see 1 sat that might come close, Cosmos 1513 Rocket, but the solar terminator doesnt look right when checking the track, although the path looks spot on. Any suggestions on what other satellites might have been in the area are welcomed. I missed a couple of birds, but there were 7 objects labeled "Object 08021 with relatively bright magnitudes predicted (3.5), but none were located. Was this debris? Overall a great night to go bird-watching...until the fog rolled in just after midnight. Clingman's Dome ( 35.5652°N, 83.4985°W) -- Gregory S.
