    DR HOLTKAMP AND GREG ROBERTS

Thanks for all the valuable inputs and efforts. I am digesting all the
advice and have some research to do.

    In random order some remarks.
    Greg
    - 640 x 427 pixels could then be the standard to set the camera to ?
    - .png format the standard ?
    - for your work will do at max telephoto.
    - will do stacking for party pictures.
    - on a alt/az tracker do you not think this
    http://shop.technopro.co.za/acuter-allinone-camera-spotter-telescope-mount-p-916.html
will be a excellent gift to the wife? Your opinion will be apreciated or
are there simpler stuff on the market ? your opinion please.

    - I use a 8 Mw green laser parallel to the camera optic axis to aim. It
gives a visible beam at night, showing you where the FOV is pointing. It
is a simple green laserpointer that you can buy for a handful of dollars
nowadays ==== GREAT SOLUTION IN THE MEANTIME.
    - Thanks will go with high iso and low f-stop.
    - Shutter lag - i am now testing c.fn-12 Canon "Mirror lockup" which
first flips up the mirror then on second press take image. Thus no
shutter lag. Thanks for the advice.
-will synch and determine actual time for a "15" sec exposure.
-I presume nothing to be done about the dead pixels ?
    - i am using cfn-02 Canon "Long exposure noise reduction" . However this
delays the writing to the cf card for nearly the same time of the
    exposure. But thats fine.
    - Ps thanks for the silent guide to blogspot.com. Created mine last
night. Excellent to publish this images.

    Thanks Gentlemen.

    Back to the drawing board.
