For good communication between the east coast of the USA and
"traditional" western Europe, it will need to be located between about
15° and 40° west longitude, so the potential arc is not that great in size.

AEHF is a follow-on from Milstar, and USA 99 (Milstar 1) is an 18 year
old satellite currently sitting at 38°.9 west. Given that its projected
life was 10 years, it's doing rather well.

This might indicate that AEHF-2 will head for the same location and
    replace it.

I've added a web page that shows the "USA" geosynchronous satellites in
    sequential order round the equator:

This important cooperation enables coalition operations with our key allies, extended interoperability and provides our international partners with an important national capability," said Madden.
