The atmosphere here was quite hazy last night making for good conditions to
attempt an observation of the pulsed laser beams from CALIPSO (29108). I
set up 1990 meters east of the satellite's geodetic ground track and saw a
very nice apparition of 4 to 5, long, bright green beams emanating from
zenith and disappearing behind some trees to the east.

Note: The laser is pointed 3 degrees forward of nadir which puts the beam
path about 2000 meters east and 5 seconds ahead of the satellite's ground
    track.
