What these numbers mean: http://www.satobs.org/position/IODformat.html ------------------------------------------------------------------------- The sky was very clear, albeit a bit light due to eternal twilight at my latitude in summertime. USA 161 was seen near the end of a 30 minute plane scan using the 35mm widefield lens. I was just about to quit the session when it appeared, as a bright and fast moving object. It evidently was near perigee when I observed it. It slowly flared to mag -2 peaking near 01:30:27 UTC, because of the fast movement a very nice sight (and a very nice picture as a result). With Leo's first post winter-blackout obs from a week ago (May 24) this obs should constrain the current orbit much better. - Marco ----- Dr Marco Langbroek - SatTrackCam Leiden, the Netherlands. e-mail: sattrackcam_at_langbroek.org Cospar 4353 (Leiden): 52.15412 N, 4.49081 E (WGS84), +0 m ASL Cospar 4354 (De Wilck): 52.11685 N, 4.56016 E (WGS84), -2 m ASL Cospar 4355 (Cronesteyn): 52.13878 N, 4.49937 E (WGS84), -2 m ASL Station (b)log: http://sattrackcam.blogspot.com Twitter: @Marco_Langbroek PGP key: http://tinyurl.com/kur7xm8 ----- _______________________________________________ Seesat-l mailing list http://mailman.satobs.org/mailman/listinfo/seesat-lReceived on Sat May 31 2014 - 06:03:37 UTC
