thank you, sir... i have a TLE processing application (a replacement for dave 
ransom's orbitel, may he R.I.P) wherein i had to make specific allowances for 
epoch times but i don't remember if that was for epochs that went backwards or 
forwards... i think it was backwards as one of the main objects of the tool is 
to merge TLE lists and retain the newest TLEs in the final output... when the 
epoch went backwards, the newest was not the one retained... the epoch is the 
only way i know of to place a ""timestamp"" on the TLEs... now that i've had 
some time to consider the situation, i think this does not really affect my 
application but the information is important to knowledge to retain...
