Good Afternoon:

I was looking at the NASA launch schedule (https://www.nasa.gov/launchschedule/) and noticed there is a dawn/pre-dawn sounding rocket launch next week. The entry says:

"Date: May 31, 2017
Launch Window: 4:25 a.m. -- 4:42 a.m. Eastern
Mission: Sounding Rocket Launch
Description: NASA tests a new system that supports science studies of the ionosphere and aurora with the launch of a two-stage Terrier-Improved Malemute sounding rocket from Wallops Flight Facility on the eastern shore of Virginia."

If this launch takes place when the ground is dark, but the rocket's exhaust is illuminated by the sun, it might be visible over a wide area.
