Hello all satilite watchers
Is it possible to see a reentry from 40 north? Yes, it is, but
not at all longitudes. I live near 40N 76W. I do not expect to see a
reentry from here because, the shuttle will have landed before it reaches
this longitude. I am east of KSC and the shuttle
comes in from the west. Reentry is visible north of 40 degrees in the
western US on flights that had high inclination (mir) orbit, if they come
in from the northwest. Shuttles also reentry from the southwest. Such an
approach from a 51.6 degree orbit would not be visible to anyone in the
US. except Florida.
