Be careful about sighting info

A quick warning to those of you who may be hoping to rely on the "Shuttle
Sighting" information to be found on the "Mission at a Glance" page on the
shuttle home page, http://shuttle.nasa.gov. I haven't had a chance to
analyze why or how extensive, but some of the information there is not
reliable. It is presently showing no sightings available for Washington,
DC, over the next several days. This is plainly wrong, as my earlier
post, (still pretty darn accurate, much more so than the early STS elsets
would have suggested), indicated. Wrong, at least, in a visual sense. It
may be that the arbitrary criteria specified on the sighting page have
been correctly applied; that is one of the aspects I haven't checked into.

Just one more reason why it is desirable to have a reliable program and
current elsets.

Cheers.
