No PegSat, but great IR16 flare

Had perfectly clear skies Friday evening, but did not see PegSat
during its 70-degree culminaton, non-sunlit pass at ~18:01 PST
(2:01 UT, 14 November). So it wasn't so low that it was able
to provide its own illumination. ;-) Too bad -- looks like
Los Angeles missed out by about 3 hours.
I did see a spectacular flare from Iridium 16, just minutes
after sunset, however. I was only 0.2 miles from the nominal
centerline, where the predicted magnitude was -8.5 (thanks to
the > 70-deg elevation angle). Despite blue skies, the flare
was easily visible for 4 seconds. (Jupiter was not yet naked-
eye visible). --Rob
