Mir vs. Leonid

The Mir emerged from the earth's shadow about 7-8 degrees above Sirius at
05:29:10 EST (10:29:10 UT) this morning at about a -1 Mag. At 05:29:58 a
nice 0 mag Leonid passed about 3 degrees to the right. A moderate haze
prevented me for seeing Sputnik 41.

During my 45 minutes outdoors I also observed about 10 Leonids at or near
negative mag. There was one non-Leonid (from the west) at -3 mag I observed
where I could actually hear the object break up.

Cheers
