I looked visually (naked eye) for a bright object in the southwest to south. Then about one minute prior to passing by Jupiter, I moved and started using binoculars. It was not as bright as Jupiter but likely an easy naked eye object in this area. Observed for a minute or so and it was steady brightness until it went behind some thin clouds. I may have seen it in clear sky for 30 seconds or so.
