Last evening (Oct. 3) at 18h47m UTC I watched STS-86 and Mir on their parallel flight through Sagittarius. Both were of the same brightness and about 20" apart. I was able to follow them with my 203-mm Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope (133x) until shadow entry, when they were 17 degrees above the southern horizon (and still rising).
