Rob Matson has kindly provided new versions of his iridium flare
program. They are at
http://www.satellite.eu.org/programs/iridflar.zip
http://www.satellite.eu.org/programs/flare_nc.zip
The first is for intel 386 machines and above with maths co-processors.
The second is for aged, maths co-processor-less machines!
both have been updated as follows:
[Rob writes]: The output looks the same, except a header has been added,
and the date format has been switched to YY-MM-DD. Refraction has been
added in the calculation of local satellite and sun coordinates.
Non-integer timezones can now be used (e.g. Australia), and the parser
for longitude explains that west longitudes are to be entered as
negative, east longitudes positive. Choice of SGP model has been
eliminated -- propagation is by SGP4. Default configuration file is now
IRIDFLAR.CFG; however, any configuration filename can now be used.
Have fun!
